CAD Configuration - Frequently Asked Questions

Question Answer
After I configure my part and go through the downloading process I receive an 'Install help box' and after I click it I go to a blank screen. When I click the back button I go right back to the 'Install help box' screen? Some pop-up blockers will not allow these files to be downloaded, check your settings for pop-ups. If this doesn't work, when you arrive at the blank screen click the arrow next to the internet back button and go back two screens (Download Progress is the name of the screen). This screen should have the 'Recent download history' section with a link to the part you downloaded, click it and you will be able to extract the .zip file.
Login not valid? 1)Did you register? 2) Did you enter your email and password correctly? (Check for caps lock) 3) If you forgot your password, click the 'forgot password' link it will be emailed to the address you specify.
What is the default position of the products? Our parts configure in the retract or closed position by default. If an extend or open position is desired then constraints must be attached before being moved in 3D and lines lengthened in 2D.
After I configure a part I click done to configure another and I have to login again and my recent download history is erased, how do I avoid this? If you want to configure another part without having to login again and keep your recent download history populated, click the 3D CAD Configurator button instead of clicking done. If you close the browser window you will have to login again.
I do not know where to go to download CAD files? Locate the floating green '3D CAD Configurator' link on the top left of the browser window.
Why are there no dimensions on the CAD files I download? CAD files are for engineers to place in their drawings, for dimensions refer to pdf files or the catalog.
I cannot unzip my downloaded file? Make sure you have some kind of unzipping program like Winzip.
After I download and unzip my file, how do I open it (run it)? There is an 'Install help button' that will guide you through the opening process.
I am encountering long downloading times? Downloading times vary with the size of the part because they are being constructed in real-time. If there is a prolongued delay click cancel and then click download again.
I would like to download a product, but I do not see it in the list? Numatics is constantly updating it's website with new product, if there is not a link for a product there will be in the future. If a drawing is requested, contact Jason Premoe at [email protected].
I am asked for my email and password, what do I type in? If you are a new user you need to click 'new user' link and register your email address and create a password for yourself, you will be asked to type this in when you download products.
My download does not match what I configured, either the part number is wrong or the dimensions are wrong? If you encounter any conflict with the part number or dimension issue please contact Jason Premoe ([email protected]) with the conflict.
All the parts are not attached together in 3D, so when I try to move something it comes apart? The models do not come with constraints, so they must be made if the model is desired to be moved properly.
Why are the models in a variety of colors? Colors sometimes do not translate between different programs, the color does not effect the geometry.
I keep getting an error message during the configuration process? Usually the error message states the exact conflict that is encountered, but if you are unsure of the conflict contact Jason Premoe at [email protected]
When I clicked on the link to download a pdf for one of the products I received an error message stating 'exptected a dict object' Contact the webmaster Joe Kaminsky.
I cannot register? 1) Make sure all of the required fields are filled in. 2) Possibly already registered with same email address.
"PARTServer error: No CAD available for the part ! Can't create part assistant in the format (Selected Format)"? Model configurator for this part temporarily down. Contact Jason Premoe ([email protected]).
